The big “yeah, but” in my mind, is that surely, objectively, there were other songs worse than ours that fared better in the voting than they deserved to?

I didn’t like this year’s UK entry, from the one time I heard it on the night.  I did like the Scooch song last year (and still had bits of it as my ringtone until relatively recently when replaced by bits of “Dragostea din tea”
