20%?!? – they need tips of 20% on that because they don’t pay the waiters. I really do not understand American cultural norms.
I don’t get the complaint? Surely if you don’t like it you don’t go there?
In the UK if you do not think a meal is worth the full amunt on the bill you pay what you think it is worth and then the restaurant must prove in court (if they so wish) that you short changed them.
To be honest hardly anyone does that – we just stop going there!
Well, that’s very much my point – if I saw on a menu outside that starters were $40, and that presumably mains were still more, I would decided sharpish I couldn’t afford to eat there.
