Cake

From today’s B3ta newsletter: Cake Wrecks, another of those mickey-taking blogs from the other day.

I’m posting it because it helps my own cake-disaster look less bad. It’s my birthday party later today, and we’re having an open house. I said there would be cake, so I’m making a few now. But somehow this lot of ingredients simply aren’t going as far as they normally do. I had to put the drizzle cake in a smaller loaf tin so the tiny amount of batter didn’t look stupid. And the chocolate victoria sponge…? There wasn’t even enough cake mix to fill both tins, so the batter didn’t quite make it to the edge.

Quite unintentionally, I’ve made Babycakes.

Here’s hoping this isn’t a harbinger for the rest of the day. I’m afraid people will have to put up with bought cakes after all. A dawn raid of the Cheesecake Shop seems in order.

EDIT: Oh boy – got a little further through the B3ta newsletter and found this hilarious version of Stars in their Eyes – with Sweep, from Sooty and Sweep.
