The quiz – “PersonalDNA” – uses all sorts of fancy sliders, “empty the bucket” and “place yourself on this graph” which is all very exciting. It says it takes half an hour, but I’m sure it didn’t take me that long. Maybe I’m not THAT respectful.

It also comes out with some very pretty graphs and sliders and things that you can see here, but that my best efforts can’t reproduce here in WordPress. So you’ll have to follow the linky.

Kitchen comparisons

For comparison purposes, here are the CAD drawings of the new kitchen alongside photos taken in January of the existing kitchen.

NB, kitchen is now WAAAAAY more cluttered than it was in January because we have had to shift so much out of the lean-to in preparation for the washing machine installation. There’s an awful lot of bottles waiting for recycling.

New kitchen - plan

The cupboards are Kensington Maple, made with real tongue-and-groove wood. The work top will be Copper Neuzeit laminate. Bog standard stainless steel gas hob. (They were selling ceramic quite hard but I resisted – I know what I’m getting with gas.) Fairly standard single oven with grill. Standard cooker hood. We’re supplying the integrated dishwasher and fridge freezer, but no idea how, when or where from.

Aargh!

When the surveyor visited, he said we’d have to remove the wood panelling that infests our kitchen ourselves. P duly did so last night, and guess what he found underneath? washing machine plumbing. Unbelievable! Couldn’t make it up! Now the question is whether the units will still fit…
