So, Niles…

Why were you up til 1.30am again?

Oh, I just got taken up with some computery things. Dealing with work e-mail, I sent out a few more calling notices about Charles Kennedy’s press conference on Wednesday. I watched the most recent episodes of Alias (v Kill Bill) and CSI (graphic immolation) while I was doing that. I caught up with cix conferences and news, and an interesting link to GeoURL caught my eye.

So, what I was actually doing was adding my longitude and lattitude [1]to the meta tags of my homepage and then adding my homepage to an ICBM database. I can now use this little button
GeoURL
to find the websites of things that are physically close to my co-ordinates.

And when I did that, I found lots of cool, if inevitably techie blogs and websites of my neighbours. Hello to BlogEd and NunOnCasters and Interaction++

And a big hello to Open Guide to Nottingham — remind me to populate some of your pages RSN.

You know, this internet thing, it might just take off?

[1] I happened to remember that Streetmap can turn postcodes into a variety of co-ordinates, including longitude and latitude, and OS grid.
