    Hello!

I just wanted to let you know that I listened to your podcast on Librivox of the Canterbury Tales (the Franklin’s Tale in particular) for my Literature class. I really enjoyed the way you read it. Thanks for making it less painful to get through. :)

Just listening to Librivox for the second time. Bram Stroker Dracula was enjoyable but some of the narrators weren’t too good. Now listening to “The Invisible Man” Really enjoy listening to you read the story!

    Good Job.

  3. I am currently listening to your Librivox recording of 80 Days Around the World and just wanted to say thank you very much for an excellent reading.
I plan to track don your other books and give them a listen too!

Just finished listening to “The Invisible Man” as I drove from Houston to Dallas (Texas, USA) and enjoyed each mile listening to your voice, as much as I enjoyed your reading of “Styles”. Great characterizations throughout the reading! I look forward to your next release (80 Days). Hurry, please!

    Dear Sir

I have for the past few days listened to the audio book titled “War and peace” by Leo Tolstoy. I can say without doubt that your recording’s are by far the most exciting to hear, your ability to read the most boring parts of the story with such interest that it becomes much easier to absorb the story,

I am most grateful for your contribution, I also believe it may be of use to some of us if you had a page on this website with a full list of all the audio books you have recorded.

    Many Thanks

    Charles Iddesleigh

    Dear Mr Foster,

Am working my way through your audio books :-

    Invisible man. Check
    Mysterious affair at Styles. Check
Around the world in eighty days. On ipod at the moment.

Keep up the good work, you are so much better than most of the other Librivox contributors, indeed some are almost unlistenable. Listening to your books in the car, however , is a joy.

    Best regards

    Simon

Simon, I was about to email and say almost the exact same thing. Although your description of some other Librivox readers being almost unlistenable was so much politer than what I was going to say. Thank you. Mr. Foster’s rendition of The Invisible Man was brilliant. That is what prompted me to check out this site. I was quite surprised at his relative youth. I was really expecting a stately gentleman in his latter 60′s or more. I am now looking forward to the other titles that you mentioned.

    • Val Sainte says:

Simon and others, thanks for the titles of other Librivox recordings by Mr. Foster. He’s a joy to listen to.

Thanks for your excellent recording of “The Invisible Man”. I have been wanting to catch up on the sci-fi oldies for years now, and listening is an easy way to do that. You have a stellar voice.

I’m listening to your reading of H.G. Wells’ “Invisible Man” and it’s wonderful! I’ve been meaning to read this book since forever but with work and life always getting in the way, I never got a chance to sit down and just read so it’s such a lovely surprise to find such a great librivox recording of this to listen to during my commute. You have a great reading voice! Thank you!

  10. Eva says:

I just listened to you Dracula recording. I love your voice and hope to hear more of it. Cheers from San Francisco

Just finished listening to your reading of “The Invisible Man” and wanted to thank you for such an excellent narration! I just started listening to audiobooks recently and you’ve definitely set the bar pretty high. So far you are the only narrator I’ve really enjoyed listening to other than Alan Cumming. Looking forward to listening to more of your work; “Around the World in 80 Days” is next on my list!

  12. Diane Bryant says:

Thank you for your wonderful reading of The Invisible Man, I am enjoying it immensely. Very curious about the Morse Code in the background of the recording. I catch a few letters between your words but can’t hear the entire message. Any clues?

    • Val Sainte says:

Diane, thanks for the insight into the subtle sounds in the background. Awaiting an answer to this mystery.

  13. Val Sainte says:

Marvelous reading of The Invisible Man! Thank you so much for making this recording available. You have a splendid voice and an excellent reading style; I hope you’re also reading professionally.

  14. David says:

Your “Invisible Man” was riveting. Also, great chapter contribution to “The Island of Dr. Moreau”.
