I had someone young-looking come to the door of an expensive house with a decent car on the drive last weekend so asked for *Name* *Name*, only to be told he was that person.

I'd just made the assumption that someone who looked his age wouldn't have been able to afford to live in a house like that. Hell, I can't! But we managed to get him down as "probable" in the end.

Nick - I knocked on a Jehova's Witness door last night! They're not allowed to vote, so it was a bit pointless for us, and I let them the guy go much quicker - I should have kept him talking!

I had a bad one a couple of days back - a teenager answered the door, but wasn't on my canvass card, so I asked for his parents. He got rather upset with me; apparently, he's just turned 18 himself. I don't have a clue why he wasn't on my list. Perhaps he hadn't registered - but his parents had, so they would have registered him at the same time. Most likely, it was an admin mistake on our part.

Anyway, he nearly clocked me one, and I don't blame him. It wasn't that long ago that I was looking forward to voting for the first time, and frankly I'd have done the same in his position!
